What to expect on the Food and Wine Tour

​Welcome to the most delicious tour in Nice!

​Discover the cuisine, culture and rich history of Nice, starting at the seafront then exploring the Old Town while enjoying a wonderful array of local specialties and plenty of wine. You’ll learn a lot on this fun walking tour while taking in the beautiful architecture of the Baroque and Medieval Old Town. Includes lots of tastings and a sit down meal with delicious wines at a family restaurant followed by Gelato at a Gelateria.​

​What's on the Menu

​Bonjour Nice! We start this culinary journey at the sparkling Mediterranean with Fougasse (fragrant orange blossom bread) and some enthralling history of the region. You'll get a superb view of the ​Baie des Anges and Castle Hill before we check out some optical illusions.​
On our discovery route of Nice's rich heritage, you'll not only be seeing history but tasting it! The secrets and legends of the city will be revealed as we explore a variety of places starting from the 21st Century and ending up in the Old Town.
​At the famed open air Cours Saleya Market, in between stalls piled high with flowers, feast on local specialities like Socca. You'll love the artists, the scent of lavender, herbs and flowers. Flanked by Castle Hill, cafes and restaurants. Lively and colourful!​
​Take in a rich mix of cultural, historic and architectural experiences right in the heart of Nice's historic quarter. The Greeks, Romans, and aristocracy all left their mark. Later came writers, artists, musicians  and movie stars who gave Nice a legacy of culture and opulence.
​In the wine shop, you'll enter another world, packed to the rafters with the choicest wines from all regions. We’ll gather a selection of wines to accompany our cheese & charcuterie to be enjoyed around the oak barrel outside. Find out why Provençal Rosé is so popular and so ooh la la! 
​Some people live for the good things in life and tasting is the key to an appreciation of authentic flavours. For your pleasure we've chosen three artisanal cheeses, two kinds of charcuterie (cured meats), and fresh baguette accompanied by delectable wines.
Each stop is an experience on it’s own, you’ll hear stories about the people, traditions and food​. Savour hand crafted chocolate almonds and candied fruit at the splendid shop where Kings and Queens took afternoon tea.​
​You'll feel like you're at a French family meal at this restaurant​ which has been serving locals since 1860. Sip chilled AOP Rosé wine paired with a selection of freshly prepared Niçoise specialities honouring the Comté de Nice recipe book!
​The recipes and wines typical of this region are made with an incredible range of produce growing abundantly from the mountains to the sea. We call it Sunshine Cuisine, a merry go round of flavours, unique and inventive, all for your enjoyment! 
​What better way to cap off the tour than at the   Gelateria where flavours include lavender, Nutella, Tiramisu, salted caramel, Amarena black cherry,  Stracciatella, cheese cake, chocolate, Madagascan vanilla and sumptuous floral or fruit  sobets.
